THE MAKING OF THE INK + PORCELAIN CONTAINER

From concept to sketches, to 3D renderings and technical drawings, through prototyping, material sourcing, and finally, production — we are thrilled to collaborate with VELARDE Design Studio on The INK + PORCELAIN Container.

Based in Baja California, VELARDE is an object design studio led by industrial designers Daniela and Mónica Velarde Schmidt, dedicated to crafting thoughtful everyday objects.

Designed for effortless styling, The Container holds small treasures in any space — coffee tables, shelves, vanities, or kitchens. Its functional design also allows it to be used as a vase with the lid removed, adding versatility to its form.

The original prototypes were featured in the SF Decorator Showcase last year, and as interest grew — even from those who happened to spot it in the background perched high on a shelf — it became clear that a larger production was needed.
