6 THINGS WITH TATIANA TAKABAYASHI

6 Things with Tatiana Takabayashi Founder of Domicile LA

Based in Los Angeles, Tatiana is the founder of Domicile LA, a thoughtfully curated online home shop and community. Tatiana has a harmonious range of products from different brands and artisans. The beauty of Tatiana's creative curation is you get exposed to a selection of everyday items that go incredibly well together. Domicile LA's goal is to create a space where you could shop all the elements that make a kitchen feel like you with intentional and feel good products.

1. What started it all for you?

From an early age I have been a risk taker, the fear of the unknown is the worst part of risk taking but the reward out weighs that fear. The lessons you learn, how you grow and ultimately the transition is a beautiful thing. Growing up with not much and at times not having a place to call our own deep rooted in me this extra drive to never be in that situation again and to have a home that is my sanctuary, a safe environment, and that reflects my personality. Domicile LA was created to inspire a more thoughtful way of life with feel good products that feel like you, which is my personal story.

At the height of the pandemic I left my long time marketing career to pursue my passion, to solve a common problem of not identifying your personal home decor style and to feel alive while pursuing that.

2. What drives your creative spark?

The beauty of life in general, the small things, those unforgettable moments with friends, laughter, music, a gourmet meal, and the high of living life to the fullest is what drives my creativity. I love to explore new cities and the South of France is a place I'm automatically inspired by because French people prioritize the joy of life.

3. Most treasured home decor item?

It is so hard to choose one piece, but I would have to say my black marble coffee table is such a statement piece that adds character to our living room.

4. What’s the best advice you've ever received?

Rome wasn't built in a day and good things take time (credit goes my husband for this). I see the value in this now and try to enjoy being in the moment and staying consistent but I wasn't always so patient.

5. It's 5 o'clock at home. What would you be pouring?

El Vino based in LA but the Rosé comes from Mexico. El Vino Rosé pairs so nicely with cheese, shrimp or melon and prosciutto.

6. What are your favorite 6 accounts that you follow for inspiration?

@olivialopez
@galeriehalf
@ocin
@natalie
@cozyvu
@aimeleondore
