6 THINGS WITH EUNJIN BAE
6 Things with Eunjin Bae Founder of Made By Eunjin
Eunjin Bae is a Los Angeles-based ceramic artist who infuses a deep-seated passion for traditional Korean ware into her work. With her artistic journey beginning in 2001, she has tirelessly explored and expanded her creative sphere, unlocking new possibilities through her craft.
Eunjin's creations are underpinned by her steadfast philosophy of simplicity and functionality. Drawing inspiration from the tranquil colors of Korean pottery — the ethereal white porcelain, the soothing celadon, the profound black glaze, and the rustic buncheong — she has honed her skill in shaping ceramics that beautifully accentuate the colors of food. We're honored to carry a selection of her Wish Stones that are exclusive to our platform.Â
1. What started it all for you?
My constant philosophy when working clay is simplicity and function. It is through my love for the path I chose along with the support of those who receive my work, that I continue on my journey.
2. What drives your creative spark?
3. Most treasured home decor item?
A painting by Hyesook Park, an artist I like, and several designer chairs. But my interests change depending on the moment and currently I most treasure my 'dancing rope' piece I’ve been newly working on.
4. What’s the best advice you've ever received?
Repetition makes miracles. Don’t give up on what you like doing and be consistent with your efforts. Even if it’s not a big road, a new road will open up, leading to a happy and fulfilling life.
5. It's 5 o'clock at home. What would you be pouring?
Rather, you can find me spending time with my two pups, Perry and Cleo who are 15 years old.
6. What are your favorite accounts that you follow for inspiration?
